Embark on a journey through a dangerous and mysterious world where fire spreads, scorching everything around it, sand dunes crumble, water flows, and gas clouds rob you of air. In Lay of the Land, explore the world and shape the environment to your liking.
How will you survive? Will you use powerful melee weapons and armor for combat? Or will you prefer to keep your distance and strike from the shadows? Perhaps you’ll choose to use powerful spells and become a master of the arcane arts. The choice is yours.
Discover a diverse array of biomes with unique locations and wildlife. Explore overgrown ruins or brave a deadly temple to find the treasure hidden within. Descend into winding cave tunnels or climb jagged mountains to discover what lies beyond the crest.
Lay of the Land’s procedural world generation uses multi-layered simulations to create engaging and natural landscapes, giving each world a handcrafted feel. Flowing water forms valleys before your eyes, and winding roads naturally connect locations.
Harness the full power of the voxel-based construction system to create anything you desire. From humble cottages to majestic castles, bring your ideas to life with a variety of procedural tools and decorative elements.
The procedural shape system in Lay of the Land goes far beyond simple square walls and roofs. Easily create rounded structures with the Cylinder tool and top them with pitched roofs with the Cone tool. Easily raise and lower the terrain with the sculpting tools or lay out roads by simply painting them directly on the ground.
Enhance your buildings with a variety of templates, including windows, fences, roofs, and more. Design and create your own custom templates to quickly duplicate decorations or even entire buildings. Decorate interiors with a variety of furniture: tables, chairs, shelves, and more.
Use the fully destructible world to your advantage in unexpected encounters with a variety of bosses and monsters. Collapse a cave ceiling onto your enemies, knock down a tree to crush a dangerous monster, or break through a wall to catch your opponents off guard.
Wield a wide arsenal of powerful weapons in battle and acquire new weapons and equipment. Fight up close with a variety of melee weapons, attack from afar with a ranged arsenal, or master arcane arts to unleash powerful spells on your enemies.
Lay of the Land uses a physics-based crafting and interaction system. You don’t need to use menus: objects are physically placed in the world and interact with them directly. Want to craft a basic axe? Lay out some sticks, rope, and flint on the ground and assemble them into a working tool. Need to cook food? Just place it in a fire and let it cook.
Forge new weapons by smelting raw ore, crafting clay molds, and casting metal parts. Upgrade your weapons, increasing stats like damage, durability, attack speed, and more. Imbue them with special elemental effects: fire to ignite enemies and deal damage over time, ice to slow targets, or lightning to bounce attacks to nearby enemies.

Launching the game
1. Download to a convenient location (the main thing is that the path to the game folder does not contain Cyrillic characters)
2. Launch the game from the LayOfTheLand.exe file in the game’s main directory

Why might the game not launch?
– Remove Cyrillic characters from the path to the game folder,
– Windows user name must not contain Cyrillic characters,
– Remove the "read only" attribute from the game folder,
– Remove the game folder from the torrent client before launching the game,
– Turn off your antivirus, as it may block the launch of executable and/or additional files.
– As a last resort, redownload the game folder completely again.
